Kuat Mini Skinny Roof Cargo Basket and Bike Carrier Installation - 2018 Chrysler Pacifica- Video

Kuat Mini Skinny Roof Cargo Basket and Bike Carrier Installation - 2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Chrysler Pacifica, we're going to be test fitting the Kuat Mini Skinny Roof Cargo Basket and Bike Carrier, part number MSR1B.The Kuat Mini Skinny is great for carrying up to one bike in your cargo basket and it still has enough free space to have some luggage up here as well. It's skinny enough that you could have additional accessories on the other side of it.The basket does have an aerodynamic shape and that coupled with the fact that it has a fairing already installed as well, that's going to cut down the wind noise and drag while you drive, meaning a quieter drive while you're on the road. The backside of the basket actually folds up and this is to assist with giving you a little bit of better clearance between the hatch and the trunks of your vehicle. But as you can see in this configuration, that there's not going to be an issue of clearance between our hatch and the cargo basket.Where the bike attaches to our roof basket here, you want to make sure it's able to fit through a 9 mm skewer and also this will work with both standard and disc brakes. Also, as you can see here, there's plenty of space in between the roof rack and the roof here to where our cargo basket isn't going to have any contact issues with there as well. This does come with locks to secure it to your roof and they're going to be at the top here, right over where our brackets make contact. The maximum crossbar spread for this is going to be 14-5/8 from center to center and 35-7/8 center to center. more

RockyMounts Roof Bike Racks Review - 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Today on our 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, we're going to be test-fitting the RockyMounts SwitchHitter Roof Bike Rack, part number RKY1270. We already have our bike installed, so let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. First off, there's going to be no frame contact at all to attach this bike to your bike rack. Instead, we have it hooked up to this skewer here at the front, which grips your bike by the fork mounts. Now, this also does work with thru-axles, and then at the rear, we have this wheel strap, which is adjustable along the length of the bike rack to accommodate different size bikes. With the bike rack installed, coming to the rear here, you can see that there's going to be no clearance issues between our hatch and our bike rack itself. Let's go ahead and take our bike off and set it aside. more
